Over one thousand of the world’s top street dancers will come together in Las Vegas for the 2009 World Hip Hop Dance Championship July 29 – August 2nd.
An event true to the real values of hip hop culture. Crews from 30 nations will serve up their best old school and new school moves in two minute performances determined to capture the world title and international bragging rights.
The five-day event includes panel discussions with respected living legends and icons of hip hop dance, a funk styles room for traditional old schoolers, popping and locking competitions and the Urban Moves dance workshops presented by the most celebrated hip hop dancers and choreographers.
National qualifications within each country are conducted to determine who participates in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship. Crews from countries with no qualifying event may contact Hip Hop International to request a special invitation to participate.

Hey guys, blogging from Las Vegas where the competition is held. Beatphonik, Kstar Junior & Varsity have just completed their tech run with positive feedback from the other international crews.
I missed Justice Crew and Zenith’s tech run but am excited to see their show tomorrow at the elimination round.
Australia is missing a country leader/representative- Where are you Hoop Dreamz?
I’ll post more news as it becomes available.
Nice…keep the blogging up Whyteflame…we’re all looking forward to any updates.
Daunting tomorrow, huge day ahead. Beatphonik, Justice and Zenith are against 49 other crews in their division! Kstar Varsity are facing up with 41 crews, Kstar Juniors will be dancing against 27 crews. Only 12 crews and defending champions will be qualifying in the finals, making this competition more thrilling and challenging since last year’s. Good luck to all.
Beatphonik are performing directly after USA’s Kaba Modern, 27th in the running order. Will post the other crew’s running order as it gets reported to me- I will check it later on.
Still disappointed being the only country to compete without a country leader/representative. Eman from Justice has stepped in to fill in for Australia’s country rep during the competition’s orientation.
good luck for tomorrow everyone! Thx heaps for the updates Whyteflame! Keep them coming!
Hoop Dreamz, Australia has been put to shame with how the teams have been organised… I can’t talk too much about this, but ALL Australian crews are put to a loss because of a missing representative. Get your act together!!!!! Australia is at a disadvantage because of you and all crews are shamed and embarrassed, it was apparent during registration that our liason/affiliate needed to be present. Every country has a judge in the panel, if only Drumstick was in Vegas
More on the competition-
Kstar Junior will be performing in the second half of their division (sorry, I don’t remember the order)
Kstar Varsity is 23rd following last year’s runner up- Japan’s Kana Boon and before New Zealand’s Fearless (2007′s runner up)
Beatphonik is the 1st Australian Open crew to perform at 27th in the second 3rd of the show, Justice at 36th. Zenith will be hitting up their routine at 39 at the last 3rd of the division.
Last update for tonight. I hope to update more tomorrow as each division finishes.
Pity about Hoopdreamz. Same rep as usual. All about the money. No focus on caring about the dancers.
All aside. Good luck to all the crews competing! Rep hard!
Junior Division has just ended. Regretfully, Kstar Junior did not qualify to the finals out of only 6 crews were that were selected. We congratulate Kstar on an excellent effort and are proud to have had them represent Australia.
