End of the world party jam!
BURNtroops welcome all bboys and bgirls to the first jam of 2012. SMOKE SESSION has a tradition of bringing out the fire in Melbourne’s best breakers and this jam will take it to the next level!
It will be a 2 on 2 battle using the callout format used in SMOKE SESSION 2. So pair up with a mate or crewmember and callout those wack dudes you have always wanted to rinse while taking out the SMOKE SESSION title.
This time around the battles will happen at a fast pace, no waiting around and wasting time. Just straight to business so we can have more time for the real event, the after party. That right, the jam will continue on to party through the night where real bboys will catch wreck and where your reputation is on the line.
If you call yourself a bboy then prove your worth as one, in front of Australia’s best in the cypher. And don’t forget to have fun!

Callout format explanation
The call out format will start from the top16 where all top 16 crews will be placed into a random draw. The randomly chosen crew will have the opportunity to choose their opponents from the 15 crews. If the chosen crew cannot chose their opponent anybody from the remaining 15 crews can nominate to battle. It is fairly straightforward and you will pick it up after a few rounds if you haven’t been to the previous SMOKE SESSION.
This allows another level of strategy in dictating your path to winning the SMOKE SESSION title and an opportunity to smoke the crew you have always wanted to beat. In any case, it will give crews the opportunity to prove themselves.
Judging System
Judging is always fair at SMOKE SESSION and bboys who deserve to win will win regardless of crew or reputation. It is purely based on your skill level in the dance on the day. This time around we are trying out Dyzee’s O.U.R system but modified to suit our small scale event. Basically, we will putting a numerical value on rounds to decide who will win on a round by round basis. If there is an event of a tie then the sum of your combine score will decide the winner. If the sum is also a tie then a tiebreaker round will be used.
This is judged using 5 categories:
Foundation
Originality
Execution
Dynamics
Battle
For a better understanding of these elements that encompass all of breaking go to the website http://ourbboys.com/?page_id=2
So you see, if you are skilled enough to cover these categories then you have a chance to take out the SMOKE SESSION title.
