One of Australia’s largest hip hop events is just around the corner! Freestyle Fed Square draws crowds of thousands to the hub of the city to enjoy and participate in all things hip hop.
From 12pm-1pm there will be an open cypher at the main stage for all the bboys/bgirls, poppers, lockers, house dancers etc to jam and have a good time.
There will be numerous battles including break, popping, locking, beatboxing and MCing. Only a top 4 will be competing on the day (no on-the-day qualifiers like previous years), so we will be seeing the cream of the crop!
Also throughout the day are numerous exhibitions including an old skool hip hop fashion parade.

Cultural Infusion and FReeZA are bringing Hiphop back to the streets! The cream of the crop from 6 Hiphop elements have battled their way to secure a final spot for the final showdown on Saturday, February 7th, 2009.
All the mayhem and pandemonium of Australia’s nastiest ‘Hiphoppas’ will be battling it out for the bragging rites to claim the crown as one of Australia’s Hiphop Champions. Who will take out this years FREESTYLE @ FED SQUARE?! See it unfold throughout the day at the BMW Edge and the Main Stage and see the top dogs go head-to-head in Emcee Battles, DJ’s, Graffiti Exhibitions, MPC production, Hiphop Cultural Dance including B-boy & B-girl, Locking, Popping and Krumping. Catch them mashing it up, on the floor, raw and unadulterated at Australia’s biggest annual Hiphop event.
It’s going to be a rare opportunity to see the Australian Hiphop Culture and Community at its realest and most united, all for free for all Melburnians to see.
