Hype 5-0

Biography:

Hype 5-0 is a hip-hop dance crew from Hawaii that formed in 2007 and consists of members from HyperSquad Dance Studios. This entertaining dance crew from Hawaii appeared on America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5

Hype 5-0 is a passionate and ambitious dance crew that is determined to put Hawaii on the map in the hip-hop dance community. They auditioned for ABDC several times before finally making it onto the show in Season 5, and although they were in the bottom three numerous times, their hard work and determination saw them place third in the show.

They first auditioned as The Hype for ABDC Season 3 in 2008, with crew members chosen by fellow HyperSquad dancers to represent the HyperSquad family. Brittnie, Will and Jon were not part of this line-up because they did not meet age eligibility. However, they were nominated again to be part of the group for the ABDC Season 4 auditions. The Hype were heartbroken when they learned that they did were not chosen for Season 4 but their determination and passion spurred them to try out (as Hype 5-0) for ABDC Season 5 and ultimately, Hype 5-0 made it onto the show.

Though making it onto ABDC proved a difficult task for Hype 5-0, they had to fight hard to remain in the show. This energetic group with their strong hard-hitting choreography faced some tough judges on the show, but through their trials and tribulations, proved that they were a strong dance crew and serious contenders on the show, coming third in ABDC Season 5.
